Risk assessment
As we are only using one location we have made sure the area is clear of many hazardous things:
-no chemicals being used in any scenes so are clear from our location.
-any wires have been removed or hidden to avoid tripping.
-all other objects that could prove to be a trip hazard have been removed.
-no items hanging from the ceiling (such as light) that were low enough to hit anyone on set.
-all equipment was out of the way of our actors line of path.
-area was cool enough that it wouldn’t overheat the equipment giving the risk of fire.
-no smoke/matches/lighters or other substance that is flammable was on set and no flames were created

Caller role
Male: A male character we thought had to have a evil look to him maybe with long hair and kind of scruffy looking. The reason why we chose this look is because we thought that all of those characteristics would give the character a feel that he's been planning the evil plot for some time now. The long hair would give a impression that this character does not care about his appearance because he has more important issues to deal with.
Female: A femail character we thought it would be hard to implement for the role that we have chosen although its not impossible if we find the right person to play it with the right autocratic voice and features such as body language and voice also maybe we would have to display her unlike the male character. As much as the hair it would be different to the male quite straight without many features to it to show the seriousness of the character and that she takes good care of herself. As for the clothes she would ware quite plain colored clothes again to display the seriousness of the character.

Victims role
Male: The male victim as there will be more than only one in the film in the intro we would use only the voice of him so it will need to be the right tone of voice to make it sound convincing. The voice of the intro victim would have to be of a normal day to day person who only wants to go about he's day and has a devotion to his family. On the other hand it could be a confident victim voice which would give the character that idea that he's of some stature and this could enthuses the seriousness of the problem that the character is facing as he would try to resist the caller.
Female: The female voice could be of similarity to the male either confident or scared. This can only be decided ones the main character is chosen and a stile for his acting is chosen.
Choice: We have decded to use a male voice character for both roles in the intro. The reason behind this is we wanted to achieve a strong and believable caller character with quite insane ideas which we believe would make the intro more intriguing.
Plot
The idea is when a unknown figure starts to call of some people of stature and it appears he's not trying to sell anything to them. The caller is instead calling his victims to blackmail them into doing evil deeds for him.The blackmailed victims have to do as the caller says otherwise they have to face the truth of their pasts or even death
iMovie lesson
We had a special lesson on how to use iMovie in which we learned how to upload, import video files into iMovie from the camera and how to create new projects, crop footage. Also how to change the size of an image, focusing, deleting some aspects that u don't want before the final product is ready. We learned how to add titles into a scene, how to use transitions to go between scenes so it's not so boring when you move between scenes. Also learned how to move footage in the correct order, also how to add other features such as music, sound effects from garageband and etc.
Type of thrillers: murder, revenge or physiological?
Murder: The murder type could be serial killer whose been of a rampage in a city location and the police and detectives later discover that all of the victims are linked somehow to a person and then try and predict and plan that persons moves before he strikes again, little did they know that the killer has infiltrated the police base and has trap on their operations.
Revenge: As in the Die Hard 4.0 film the main characters daughter is being kidnapped, which fuels him to pursue the kidnappers and take his revenge on them for the thing that they have done. The film would follow the characters detective skills to track down this daughter and the kidnappers in a high end action film. Physiological: Inspired by a film called “Phonebooth” , this version would be instead in a strict environment “phonebooth” the main villan is calling more than only one person forcing them to do tasks such as murder, theft or other crimes otherwise he will blackmail them or even kill the victims’ families. But as the idea of the film takes a turn as one of the victim decides to go after the caller.
Choice: We decided to go with the physiological thriller set up, as to film and create a intro for that type of film would be easier plus we felt that some aspects of the other 2 types of thrillers wouldn’t be as grasping as the psychological. With the psycho. thriller we could start the intro with the killer calling a random victim and murdering them before calling the main character, which would give the viewers some information about the plot of the film without actually revealing the killer.
Horror or thriller?
Horror: A horror type of production might seem very difficult to be realistic, although locations could be fairly easy such as a forest or a abandon building type of horror. If we had the knowledge to make it a believable horror it would be really interesting and with possible good results. However on the other hand intros for horrors are usually quite normal in a sense that the viewer knows what to expect and in some cases even boring. Because of this we don’t want to make a boring intro or one that people might mistake as a thriller.
Thriller: A thriller intro we found that could be easier to make unlike the horror because in the thriller one we are not tiring to scare the audience but just create a sense of mystery witch will be sort of a theme to the rest of the film. A thriller location is generally easier of find because the set up could be done in any environment we could think of.

The pick: The reason behind why we rejected the idea of a horror is because we found found it can be hard to make a horror believable and difficult to think of a suitable character who could be used in a horror that we have thought of crating. We also found that the characters for a thriller were more realistic for us and also that in a thriller even a normal everyday looking person can be made to look evil.

For the Prelimary Task we had to group up and we had to do a short clip which shows the 180 degree rule and a match on match shot (through a conversation). For our task we chose to use a person walking into a detantion room (this is where we used match on match action shot) and then he sits down and has a conversation with another person (which is where we show the 180 degree rule). We used a Tripod for the whole filming so we could have smooth steady shots that are not moving and jumping around.
The Brief
As part of your foundation portfolio you will have to produce two short filmed artefacts.
The Preliminary task is a Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule.
The main task is to research, plan and make the titles and opening of a new fiction film, to last a maximum of two minutes. You can work on your own or in a group, maximum of 3. All research and planning should be completed individually.
